safety. The road bike is defined by its 700c wheels with narrow 23c-28c tires and drop handlebars.

a new category to emerge in the last several years. Flat-bar road bikes have become a popular bike for commuting. The tires are narrow compared to a hybrid but slightly larger compared to a standard road bike. The geometry is more performance driven. The handlebar is usually straight or has a slight rise. The flat-bar road bike has braze-ons to install rack and fenders and overall it is designed to be very quick bike for commuting or recreational.
